Special Projects

In July 2010, AlliancExchange made donations of educational supplies to two projects in Canton Sucre, Manabi , Ecuador.

One of the donations was received by the Fundación “Corazón Solidario” to support its center for special education, called “Talita Kum.”   The principal goals of the center are to train and accompany special needs individuals in the realization of their potential, focusing on pre-school and primary education material and skills. The second donation was received by the “Maria Comedor Comunitario,” or community cafeteria. The donation will serve to accomplish one of the purposes of the “Maria Comedor Comunitario” which is to provide free tutoring and homework assistance to elementary-aged children. These donations were happily received and are considered to be an enormous contribution to improve school performance of children with special needs and those living in poverty.
